I think the most important thing is to have a plan from the start of the season. Even for a high school or college team, winning every game might not be the right path. Integrating players may cost you a few games but make you a stronger team at playoff time. Obviously a college team isn't going to throw girls all over the place but if you know you will need more than 9 girls you need to play them. Our high school baseball team finished 10-10 and won the state championship. The coach knew he didnt have a solid 9, and knew it would take 12-13 kids to win games.
