After researching further, we did lose to Team Michigan 8-1, it was another game we lost 2-1 on a bunt, that game was to Empire State Huskies. I stand corrected.
Katie - sounds like she's on a good path. I think at that age, the drop is a good pitch to go with the others.
Don't let her lose her drop over time. Many coaches at older ages have one pitch they love (screwball seems to be favored quite a bit), and they forget how effective a drop ball can be.
I agree with you. At her age the fast, change, & drop ball are very effective pitches. Her coach & I both prefer her to "master" a pitch so to speak before moving on to more advanced pitches.
I'm a parent and by no means am I a pitching coach. I let her pitching coach do the coaching; she has a taken a girl with raw talent & helped her become a strong pitcher.
