DD is first year 16 but can still play 14s (and will at PGF Nationals). She's a lefty and her curve was her bread and butter for 1-2 years but can also get hit hard by older, stronger hitters. Her rise is probably her best pitch now. We are working hard on two realistic levels. Her screw is also a very effective "out" pitch but less control of up down with it. We are working on a drop curve. The drop is by far her weakest -- we just haven't even tried lately.

My DD is a second year 12u and a left-hander as well. Her go to pitch is her drop thrown on the inside corner, its a true drop with the "bubble" and most girls have a real hard time even putting the bat on it when she really has it going. That being said the change is still probably her best, throws sort of slip that comes in low and then drops about 2-3 feet from the plate...lots of strikeouts. Even though I am partial to her for obvious reasons its the best at 12u that I have seen in our state at her age.

Last year of 10U and she will mix in a 2 seamer (she loves that pitch), some screw balls when needed, drop ball, FB and a change that has really nice spin and drops nicely at the plate. But what makes her tough to square up and it gets the batters uncomfortable is her ability to go in on their hands to tie them up and also mixing it up by working every corner of the zone. She's been able to do that without hitting anyone in the last couple years.

18U - loves the mix-up of screw, curve, drop curve, off-speed curve, drop and cu...but not all will work on same day, and at least 2 are effective any given day. So...it helps if the catcher knows her or communicates well with her. ;)

DD is pretty good at mixing up her pitches and keeping batters off balance, but a curveball is her "go to" pitch. If the curve is working it makes everything else that much more effective. Batters have to crowd the plate to cover the outside corner which opens up the inside peel, screwball and tailing 2-seam fastball.

DD has been commanding the screwball very well this season. It's a great pitch when the girls are crowding the plate.

DD is a 2nd year 14 and her screwball has become her go to strike out pitch. Has a good drop and curve and is learning to throw a rise.
