For anyone interested I've found the joby ballhead 3k to be a nice addition to my lynk spyder setup. It makes the camera taller in the viewing area but gives me infinite flexibility to tilt left/right/forward/backward to get the best position on the basepaths when recording through fences. It also allows me to easily pop the camera on/off for downloading. Not cheap but has worked well for me.
