I know UGA was playing inferior competition this weekend but the Dawgs look like a force to be reckoned, the top of the order is ridiculous with speed of the sisters and Lazear followed up by the bats Wilson and Hugo -

It was nice to have some softball to watch this weekend ! - The SEC channels ROCK !!!

Will be interesting to see how they do going forward, when the schedule toughens.

They lost only one starter (Glasco, transfer to Oregon), but they have 4 new starters in the lineup. Three are fast/slapper types, one a transfer, one a freshman, and one a senior who apparently has beaten out a pretty productive power hitter from last year. That is Iosefa. It was thought they'd miss Glasco, but Iosefa actually had a better year last season. She's on the bench. Outfield now is as fast as anybody in the country. We'll see how if pans out. They're a contender to make the WCWS, but way too early to think they can win it.

Iosefa is a slugger type who hit 10 HR last year, 14 as a freshman the year before. But UGA has been playing a speed player instead named Niaja Griffin, a senior who started as a freshman and maybe sophomore but appeared to have lost favor. Either they have decided they want a faster team, or Griffin has shown improvement in the off-season.

Can't remember who had the split grip. Wasn't Iosefa.

Anyone have an idea what is with the kid in the stands pretending he is the umpire ? He wears a mask and has ball pouches on
