Gloves are typically measured as the material lays flat. Stretching, manipulating, and padded will stretch the glove. Leather is a living moving thing

@pattar

Had my first 18U practice today, first time I’ve been on the field with some real ball players in a year, my MS boys baseball team don’t count!

Today as far as gloves go, less was more. Decided to take my 11.75” NP5PRO Spring Trainer. Still stiff as a board, this glove has caught less than 100 baseball‘s, baseball‘s only.

Thursday night I hand shaped and stretched it while watching baseball, last night before everyone went to bed I beat the poo out of it with my dumbbell just to get it usable.

So this morning after I was introduced to the teams.....the 16’s & 18’s practiced together, during warmups I butted in and threw with the girls as they were throwing and warming up with each other. Great way to get to know them while I judge them! ;)

I know this glove is .25” larger than you like :rolleyes:, but I bet you’d love this size and pattern! I enjoyed using a smaller glove today, and I had some BB’s thrown at me, I think they were trying to hurt this old man!

More on my NP5PRO, it’s turned into my favorite glove, I think? I know I’ve preached here about the Don Morton Pro1000 for years, and it’s a perfect pattern that I urge everyone to try! Dave Concepcion can’t be wrong!

But I‘m just an old school, single heel break, close thumb to middle kinda guy, the NP pattern is just my favorite! Pretty impressive how this 11.75” glove eats up a 12” ball. Starting to really dig this I-web also.

And I’ve got to say, this Horween is fantastic!

I can't believe I sent one of those back to rawlings.
What an idiot...

Why’d you return it? I think they’re getting really scarce! The first time I ever saw one was at the MB outlet several years back, I know for a fact they don’t have anymore!

I was looking for gloves for both me and my DD. I ordered the famed black and tan "pro-206-DFP" and the np5 at the same time. The 206 came promptly from the outlet and she used it immediately, while the np5 took a month to ship from the rawlings website. While it was shipping I convinced myself to get a DCT 1b mitt to see and also catch the dd's pitching(it is perfect).

So when the np5 finally came it had no place(so I thought) so I regretfully sent it back to rawlings.

Today, I would gladly pay 199$ to have that glove sitting in my closet right next to a shoebox with a pair of white new balances.

Yep, you sir screwed up! ;) I’ve had a ton of Pro1000’s come and go, I decided to go ahead and break this one in cause I knew it wasn’t going anywhere.
