Pure stretch through showing the numbers,
Gurriel's belt and barrel start turning before shoulders do. It's the hands and the rear leg doing the work and torso resisting.
Pure stretch through showing the numbers,
How does the torso lead?
We certainly see things differently.
I don't believe the torso lags behind what you are describing as "working the barrel around their forearm", etc. ... I believe the torso action leads ... I don't see the torso action as a 'result' of using the hands, more I see the hands being leveraged as a result of the correct torso action.

Not Butter, however....Buttermaker,
Can you explain how the torso resists in an easy to understand manner?
Not Butter, however....
In a HL swing, do the hips, and shoulders turn forward at the same time?
If you say, "yes"...then I might suggest you look closer at HL hitters. If you say, "no"...then what turns forward first, and what prevents (or "resists") the other from turning forward at the same time?

Muscles. Abs/Obliques
Can you explain how that opposite and equal reaction is created...in an easy to understand manner? The opposite and equal reaction is the hips opening and the shoulders closing. As far as your question I answered that in my response, the opposite and equal reaction,
