First swing was at a bad pitch. Too far up the ladder.

Second swing was good with weight transfer, turn and most of the little things.

Problem with second swing is that the front arm locks out straight before the turn. It is resulting in bat lag and not getting the barrel to the ball.

She needs to maintain the bend in front and rear elbow during the turn. This will allow her to turn the barrel to the ball and allow the ball to actually contact the barrel instead of the handle.

My daughter does the exact same thing at times. She is 17 and leaving for college in a few weeks. Sooo bad habits happen even when they know better.

The other deadly sin which will occur with the early front arm lockout is the continuous desire to be early so as to compensate for the pathological bat lag. Most batter struggle with being too early including MLB players. If you practice maintaining 'the hitters box' formed by the arms, the rest will take care of itself.

Lots of good stuff there though. Good luck.
