Sports that require hotels?

What other youth sports require hotel stays as much as softball / baseball ? I know for softball a lot of it depends on the location tournaments and Class of team.

Without taking effort to find facts so I might be dead wrong.

Basketball would be my guess. Maybe football after that? Hockey?

Any youth "travel" (non-rec) sport that uses tournaments as its primary competitive outlet uses hotels. So pretty much, every sport except football.

Volleyball, gymnastics and cheerleading. Soccer and Hockey if you are good.

A lot depends on the area you're in, how popular the sport is, and what level of competition you're playing. For us, we could stay in So Cal all year, and play against some of the best teams in the country.

have spent every thanksgiving in several states away. and numerous other WEs, for past 5 years away at hotels for Field hockey. you gotta go to the big recruiting events if you want to be seen.

have also had to do WEs away for swimming, even though it was all in our "region", once car ride exceeds 1.5 hours for multiday event, we stay over.
