I think good coaches focus on developing girls to play well at the next level past where they currently are. So, in this case, the coach should have practices and a tournament schedule that is helping prepare these young ladies to compete effectively at 14U and to play HS ball. Doing victory laps against C teams and lower B teams at local tournaments almost certainly is not helping do that. The game is going to be very different at 14U...

If they're not reconsidering their schedule, they're probably ordering a case of plastic brass trophy polish on Amazon because that's what matters to whoever's in charge of that team.
The trophies will probably get fewer and fewer as they progress in age, and they'll wonder what happened because they used to be soooo good.

As a parent, you should be concerned if your kid's team is playing down like this. What about player development? Many game situations cannot be mimicked in practice. As the speed of the game increases, those kids will be behind. Better to take some lumps against more developed teams and see your weaknesses than do victory laps against poor teams. Its a short lived celebration.
