The answer may be an obvious one but I'm not that smart.

Is slapping on a turf field less advantageous for a hitter as opposed to a dirt infield?

We play indoors on turf in the winter. 1. The ball doesn't take the wild bounces like it does on dirt. 2. If you play on a dirt field in good condition the ball doesn't come off as hot as it does on turf. 3. Wet ground is a big advantage to a slapper , bunter. So we do little or no down slapping on turf. We do power slap and bunt, based on what the defense gives us. My dd can also hit for power and with the net, indoors this is an easier hit than slapping into the turf.
