Closing a thread that is discussing why threads are being closed??? Makes absolutely zero sense, I'm at a loss for words and that is a very rare occasion!

???

Here are the facts:

1) There was a thread that was closed about "hickeys". I didn't close the first thread. It was closed at 1:05 PM on March 6.
2) A second thread *ON EXACTLY THE SAME TOPIC* was started at 1:56PM on March 6.
3) Slingit actually read the second thread the same day. (That is right, he knew about the thread and the topic.)
4) Three days later, Slingit complained about the first thread being locked...even though he *KNEW* that a second thread on the exact same topic existed, and there were six pages of posts.
5) One of the posters in Slingit's thread thought the board was being ran "in a communist way". I realize that the poster probably has no clue about the difference between communism, fascism, socialism, populism, and republicanism, but I do.
6) Rather than castigate everyone for being incredibly lazy and rude, I posted a link to the new thread and closed the thread.

You don't need to justify on your decisions to lock a thread? Now if you ever lock my "Friday check in" threads. We might have issues!

Bty. Jaws is over. Never knew the movie was about a fish! Haaaa

It might be useful for the admin locking the thread to provide some meaningful information as to why the thread was locked. That may go a long way toward managing expectations and regulating behavior in the future. The locking of a original thread was obviously unwarranted and the comment by the admin only served to exacerbate the situation.

And this is what you guys sound like complaining when another thread was started *50 MINUTES* after the first one closed:

If another thread on the exact same subject, which was in no way out of line, started less than an hour later then that should tell you something. It was a topic that many of the members of this site thought was relevant or worthy of reading and commenting. As far as communism, nah. It is a dictatorship. But our griping in no way compares to the, I'll take my ball and go home attitude you are showing right now. With all due respect.
