What P? You don't believe you should LAG the barrel as long as possible. Then turn your hips. Then turn your shoulders (cause resisting is a falicy) holding the hinge angle. Then throw/hammer the barrel through the ball, when you decide to hit the 100mph fastball?

IMHO, you should keep the barrel Up as long as possible, holding resistance, and the barrel should go right towards the ball, not torqued back at the catcher.

The barrel is held up longer, on an inside pitch, more so than outside.

The tilt, takes care of all the swivel drivel.

Here is Pujols sucking the barrel down beside his upper arm (deltoid) AS HIS BACK ELBOW LOWERS.

When FFS posted the video of the two girls....his advice to the girl on the LEFT was to learn this barrel path:

He calls it a 12 to 6 barrel path. Imagine the girl on the LEFT using that barrel path against live pitching using her vertical bat handset.

No thank you. Terrible advice. Here's what it would look like:

The guy on top believes he is doing the same thing as Pujols....I kid you not.

Can you imagine Lockwood....with her vertical bat handset twirling the bat like the little boy in the clip?

Good hitter create a CORNER at the back shoulder by taking the shaft of the bat down toward the side of his upper arm/deltoid. They then turn the knuckles of the top hand from the back of the handle to the front of the handle...NOW!

As I said earlier....the carving action is happening....or should be happening....while the upper torso is turning and tilting. The torso is working in two separate planes of motion simultaneously....as the hands/arms perform the carving action. The visual of the barrel arcing around is a result of all three actions working together in sync.

The carve action is easier to see with hitters who minimized shoulder tilt and upper torso turn as they flattened the barrel to the swing plane. Red Dot Barrel Path clips have been done on Ruth. The Red Dots were almost perfectly stacked.

Is it any wonder why Katie is such a good hitter. She isn't bopping the catcher on the head with the bat barrel. She has a CORNER.
