If a parent is paying a hitting instructor, is it a coach's responsibility to say those mechanics are a hindrance to their daughter's progression as a batter?
It is a coach's responsibility to make the players the best they can be. What if the hitting instructor is wrong? Why wouldn't a coach give an opinion? Even the best instructors have had players move on to someone else because they weren't getting the right instruction for them. Is the player hitting, or isn't she? If not, then the coach would not being doing his/her job if she/he didn't offer some constructive criticism and instruction.

depends. I've seen lots of coaches trying to say an elite hitting instructor doesn't know what he's doing. yet, said hitting instructor has YEARS of success with VAST NUMBERS of college athletes.
Ever seen a coach who calls out a bad hitting instructor who has no years of success and zero pupils who have been successful in college? I have.
