played on a field with permananet 43, and 40 and 35 temporay, as per above, with rubber inserts with the whiskers, no issues, except with bozos ripping whiskers out (not a tripping hazard at all, would collapse if a hummingbird landed on them). you do have to keep up with maintenance though, as you need to keep dirt level with top of tubes, and when taking temp rubber out, make certain to level dirt to top of inserts and tamp down.

I'm thankful for fields that use this kind.

You have to bury them deep down in the ground, and of course the right time to put them in is when you're building the field. But you can put the permanent holding part in at 35, 40 and 43 feet and then move the plate back and forth as needed. They metal posts go down about a foot and fit tightly within the metal sleeve in the ground. When not using the other 4 holes, you plug them with a hard foam piece that makes them level with the ground.
