Casedawg is the man to talk to about gloves and better pricing.

Indeed... Casedawg is the man and is working with us to get just the right glove that will meet what exactly what the DD is looking for in a glove. DD is very excited for upcoming delivery! Thank you all for your input. Will post follow up after she receives shipment.

Casedawg did indeed hook our daughter up with a new glove. She definitely likes the Vinci glove he sent us to try out, and DD has decided to keep it. Couple points to share about our initial impressions:

• no problem with glove not having a Velcro wrist strap, which was a concern for DD
• definitely made for smaller hand - fits her hand - just has a hard time closing it as it is really stiff.
• it is MUCH MUCH lighter than the TPS glove she is using - very surprised at that
• Momma thinks its "very pretty" - daughter thinks it looks "cool", but definitely isn't into "pretty"
• the reinforcement in the fingers, in her words, is "awesome" - Incredible ability to shape.
• amazing workmanship... great detail
• fantastic to be able to demo the glove before we made purchase - Casey super helpful.

Thanks to all for input and guidance. Now just researching how to break in correctly!

Is that glove from the 'baseball' line or is Vinci on to the open back non-Velcro for fastpitch?

That glove is beautiful! I ended up using a 5lb dumbbell on DD's for a quicker break in which worked great after seeing a Wilson Glovesmith doing it.

I am working on it. Worked up some protos with smaller hand stall, dual welting makes for a snugger fit also. The new tan kip leather is butter. Lighter and a little softer but very strong. About to make another batch in 12-12.5 sizes like that one but with black lace and various webs.

Definitely interested in any advice on breaking the glove in... Not sure how you would use a dumbbell - but interested? Don't want to do anything foolish to damage this beautiful glove or to get it to hinge incorrectly (again - relative neophyte SB Dad!). DD is just finishing fall season but has developed tendonitis in her glove hand so her putting the glove on and beating it with a mallet or taking lots of fast balls from the pitching machine just isn't in the cards.
