If anything, I would be for a ball size change. Have the standard size be an 11". Never understood why girls play with a huge ball and the boys play with a little marble. Then when the girls stop playing fastpitch and go to slowpitch COED leagues, they use an 11" ball for the women at bat and a 12" for the men. I know a lot of other things would probably have to change if an 11" ball was used (fences over 200', possibly move rubber back), but I think it would be interesting.

I think if you went to 11" the big thing is you would have to soften the ball.
I'm just fine with fastpitch softball just as it is. Keep it underhand. Keep the 12" ball. Keep the fence...and the pitching distance. The game is fast, dynamic, and fun. Leave it alone.
