We are right on I70 in Missouri, been practicing outside with my DD sporadically all of January. We've had alot of 50 and even some 60deg days. But now... low 30s/20s. Bleh... It's so dry out though, we've had NO rain snow to speak of all winter. Which makes me think it's going to be a long and wet spring.
Finally, the team gets to move outdoors next week, followed by 3 games on Sunday. I'm so excited! I bet a lot of teams are finally getting to enjoy the outdoors.
DD's HS team (NJ) has practiced outside every day since the season began on 3/2. Some days it's sweat pants, under armour and hoodies; yesterday it was shorts (60's).
My first outdoor scrimmage was March 20 and it was 84 degrees! But that was an aberation and an all-time record. Normal for this time of year might be about 50.
My first real game is tomorrow. Forecast is calling for about 43 degrees at game time. By the time the second game of the double header starts, we might be in the low 50's. Not perfect softball weather, but do-able.
