Does TB there run through HS season? Around here, TB basically shuts down during HS season. With the girls practicing 5 days a week and playing games, there really is no need for TB ball.
Noramlly travel games stop during h.s.
Player's would attend t.b. practice one weekend day.
While still doing h.s. season.

Now cif letting players do both.
Including games.
This season.

In Minnesota where I am from they are pushing the season back and not ending it until Mid/late-June. This is a problem as alot of the TB coaches around here coach high school as well.

Our program right now is without a coach, and we are about 3-4 weeks away from practice starting. Getting worried here, in talking to the AD, lots of schools are having this problem apparently 3 teams in our conference alone are without coaching...

The talk seems to be that high school coaches for the most part are going to let the travel kids continue to play with their travel teams even if high school is going on. If they don't, there won't be much for HS teams out there. I know which my daughter would pick if they made her...

Western Indiana
Indiana is looking at thing progressing as normal right now. We have a full schedule and will start as scheduled.
First day of practice is March 8th.

Athletes are not allowed to participate with non school supported teams of the same sport during that season, in any sport. So TB has to wait for end of HS season.

We're in Canada and we have no high school programs in our area so TB is it. We only have 2 teams in our area and man is there drama and politics every year to the point it has almost turned off DD away from softball which is sad. It is a circus.

We have seen coaches get kick out of clubs for various reasons. We have seen the best pitcher not get selected to a team because coach's DD is also a pitcher and he doesn't want competition for her. We have see parents get "shunned" out of organizations because the coach or the manager decides that she doesn't like one of the parents for no apparent reason. We have also seen kids get bullied by coach's kid. We have seen parents get bullied by coaches and organizations.
It is really hard to start new organizations here because the governing body won't allow it. So we are stuck in this gong show unless we want to leave our town to play somewhere else. All of the parents are petrified every year during tryouts because team selections aren't based on merit but on something else and no one wants to say anything about it. It is unbelievable.

In order to enter tournaments and the Provincial championships (which would similar to the US State Championships) a team must be registered/sanctioned with our Provincial governing body. Tournament organizers won't accept teams without this registration. Even if we travel to a tournament in the US, we require registration with our governing body.
Our governing body simply will not allow more "elite level" teams in our city. Others have tried and have failed resulting in the team folding or having to go under and existing organization. I honestly do not understand the logic as more teams should allow for better competition with more girls getting into the sport.
