At that level, even though the Coach pitched, The pitcher was kinda SS. Throwing the ball to first was the challenge. I made a very controversial move and put a girl on first. Of course she liked him, and worked twice as hard as any boy to make that catch. And he would run a couple steps so he didn't have to throw it too hard to her. Thats what won it all... They are still great friends, and see each other every week at Church to this day, in their early 30's.
