What do other countries and pitchers from those countries have to do with the abilities of a pitcher from OU?
because she is part of the human race and statistics drawn from other humans are relevant...? Like I said, if
leaping was such a huge advantage, and we assume that there are some other gifted athletes who don't care about
pitching legally (that isn't a huge assumption is it?) then one would think there would be more dominant leapers out there. Right? Think logically here @Shiloh

This thread is about JBs continued illegality and lack of enforcement, not the advantage/disadvantage leaping gives her. I know that nuance is difficult for many people to get their mind around. So much easier to split into warring camps (yay Jordy!) (boo Jordy!) than to have a reasoned discussion.

This discussion plays out all the time in travel softball. It's normally the hitter's parents that complain when their kids do not hit well. That pitcher was doing "X", it is illegal. The other people that complain are the parents of other pitchers when they lose.

Mind you nobody complains when they hit well or if we win.

It's easier to look out than it is to look in.

PS - Can anyone name a baseball rule which is repeatedly violated and, when violations happens, the officials just let it go? How about football? Basketball? Soccer? Hockey? Lacrosse? Track and field? Anyone?

Baseball--The "foot in contact with rubber in the stretch position" is rarely enforced. Obstruction, interference, arguing balls and strikes, and "players of opposing teams shall not fraternize at any time while in uniform”, Those chats at 1B are a rules violation.

Football -- Holding, pass interference, illegal use of hands. The refs could call one (or more) penalties on every play.

Basketball--personal fouls. If the refs called a foul every time a player used physical contact to gain an advantage, there would be five fouls every shot.

I'm sure there are similar contact rules for soccer, hockey, and lacrosse.

Track and field? Body contact during races to gain an advantage.

So safety shouldn’t be a concern nor a priority? And if everyone agrees to prioritize safety, that’s a bad thing?
This discussion is about rules.
Safety seems like the reason you would consider fracturing the rules.

@Shiloh with all due respect to your well detailed posts. you commented about
not touching a base upon making a double play is excusable for safety.
But the rules say player actually need to touch the base to get the out.

To your previous comments about applying rules...
If the rule needs to be changed that players don't actually have to touch the base to get the out
then change the rule.
whether it's in the name of safety or anything else.
However the rule is still the rule.

That really seems to be picking and choosing applying rules.
After that, not much need to be said about only one rule when you excuse another.

Yes
Little nuances that could contribute to plays in the game. That pretty much happen continuously throughout all games on both teams.

Never cared for basketball simply because of how much the referee has to pick and choose when and where to call fouls when there is constantly pushing and shoving going on. After all, what kind of game would there be if there wasn't any contact of the players?
that would be strange.

This discussion reminds me of the old joke about jumping off a building. It’s not the jump that gets you, it’s the sudden stop at the end. That’s where Bahl gets her power. Exploding forward, frontside resistance, sudden stop and violent arm whip like a lever. The length of the stride is a smaller part of the equation.

I wonder how many pages this thread will reach by the time Bahl throws the final out of the WCWS Championship round?

Had no idea about the "fraternization" rule. Not at all unusual see players chat before, during, and after games. Has that EVER been enforced?
