I saw this on YouTube but I never seen Kelly Barnhill pitch on the powerline. I thought her trademark style was to step on the left line of the pitching lane. It is dated a year ago.

I saw this on YouTube but I never seen Kelly Barnhill pitch on the powerline. I thought her trademark style was to step on the left line of the pitching lane. It is dated a year ago.

Thing that most stands out to me is how little lag she has between her elbow and hand (her arm is very straight at 7 and 6 o'clock), how little deceleration of the upper arm she has, and how little to no brush she has.

And subsequently how little whip she has.

I believe she generally gets more lower arm lag than this. Every game slow motion replay that I remember showed really good whip.

Goodness that first pitcher's mechanics are lacking. Obviously she does well in spite of that fact. But man it looks like it would hurt after 100 of those.
