Not sure if I just need to vent or if I need advice. Wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar. Two years ago my daughter and I joined an organization. She was asked to join and I was asked to AC. A friend of mine was an AC on this team also. It's a small, "B" level organization and not a high level B team by any means.
The first year was good. We were decent in tourneys but didn't win any. My friend and I were aggravated with the HC's game decisions and his lack of communication. We pretty much ran practices and did the base coaching but he made sure his daughter played where he wanted. We decided to stay and had tryouts. He decide to cut one of the better players because she was too immature.
We had a horrible season and the aggravation continued with communication, lack of practices, and even had a practice where everyone showed up and we had no field. Many of us drive an hour to practice. Parents began getting upset and talking to me. They told me that they will not play for the HC again. They like the organization but not the HC. The only way they stay is if I take over the team. I cannot coach with him again and don't want to abandon the team. Not sure what to do. My daughter loves the team and the other girls but doesn't want to play for the HC. The parents all want to tell the HC that he is out and I am in. I don't feel that is the right thing and am not comfortable asking him to step down.
Anyone else ever have this? It has been stressing me out for weeks.
