As some of you might remember I do have a challenging history with the Big D company.
I have witnessed each of the cases of the outer layer shell of 'laquer' cracking and the inner main core of the bat giving up. We have had big-D's have a whole bunch of shedding chips of laquer come off and it still hits hot. Briefly.....
BUT, the outer laquer going from length-wise cracks to falling off chips is a strong indication the bat has maybe 1-2 months left before you start questioning the pop as the inner core structurally decays.
