like you already alluded, the 'emergency type' slappers will learn really quick or become easy outs. 14u, the 3b start to be able to out throw the just quick runners. In fact, I know a few girls who just couldn't figure out regular hitting so they were turned into slappers. So perhaps in my tiny universe I'm seeing more than before.
A lot of the players at the younger age groups don’t want to put in the time to learn how to slap or to become a triple threat.Yep! They are dangerous as the fielders have no idea where to play them when they can bunt, slap, and hit away.
I still believe the best lineup is one where you have the table-setters and then the power hitters who can drive them in.
Don’t get me wrong - HRs are awesome and definitely are huge to a team - but I haven’t seen a player yet who can hit one in every at bat.
I've never understood that logic. "Ok, you can't hit so lets make it easier by switching you to the other side of the plate and let you hit while moving. Problem solved"In fact, I know a few girls who just couldn't figure out regular hitting so they were turned into slappers. So perhaps in my tiny universe I'm seeing more than before.

That's true. DD finds it hard to stop at 2nd when the ball is still at the fence. Also analytics. It's hard to slap for a double.
