12u daughter has a new club coach. She is suggesting ice on her shoulder between innings. That sounds bizarre to me.
My daughter has been pitching for three years, never had pain or injury. She doesn't ice after pitching, though her pitching coach advocates it. My feeling is that if she consistently feels good, her body must be doing what it needs to do and there is no reason to use ice to inhibit the natural healing process after a workout. So we are not ice fans to begin with. I understand there are different schools of thought on this.
But this middle of the game thing sounds crazy to me. Wouldn't that tighten you up? Anyone ever hear of this?
