I highly encourage everyone to promote the use of a safety bag. IMHO there is no excuse not to have one.

Delaying teaching/learning how to properly use first base until the players get bigger and stronger just means that the inevitable collisions will be more violent and have a greater potential for injury. Little ones bounce, big ones break.

Maybe I'm an idiot, but how challenging and time-consuming is it really to teach someone safe footwork and positioning at first base???
