Got this email today on procedures from a regional/national director on options they are considering for tournaments.

1) Coaches will be e-mailed a certification form that all of their players, coaches, and parents have self-certified that they are non-symptomatic and that form must be turned in prior to warm up on both Saturday & Sunday.

2) All spectators must sit along the outfield foul line or behind the outfield fence and maintain appropriate social distancing.

3) Only three players will be allowed in the dugout. Remaining players will be directly behind the dugout and/or outside the fence toward home plate and maintaining appropriate social distancing.

4) Teams will be responsible for cleaning the dugouts once all equipment is removed and prior to the next team coming in. Teams will also maintain the game balls and are welcome to clean them as often as they feel necessary.

5) No teams coolers will be permitted in the dugout. Each player should have their own water bottle/jug and labeled with their own name.

6) Masks are not mandated, but are welcome to be worn.

7) There will be no player huddles permitted during games and visits to the circle must maintain appropriate social distancing.

8) After games, opposing coaches should acknowledge each other with a tip of the hat. Shaking hands, first bumps, etc are temporarily suspended.

Tournaments are set to start in almost 2 weeks here in OK and I have yet to see what various parks/alphabets plan on doing with regards to this..some social media conjecturing from parents and others but nothing set yet...Not sure how much of a difference it would make but one would think they need to have a plan (if they are going to) soon..

If we move past the argument of should we play/not play, and assume that games are played, seems like a fairly reasonable list.

#1 really doesn't do anything, other than try to setup a CYA for the directors.
#3 could be tricky depending on the field layout and how close adjacent fields are to each other. For example, our home field is a single diamond with plenty of space behind the dugouts, so that area just becomes players only with a huge "dugout". However, the some of the complexes are setup with dugouts almost "back-to-back" with not much space in between.

No mention of the rest rooms?

Will it come to this? Every team brings their own? IDK, will a 5 gallon porta potty handle an entire team for the day?

My DW and I have discussed getting one of these for tournaments... Seriously!

How will the pitchers know what pitch
To throw if dad isn’t allowed behind home plate? Most kids can’t see fingers all the way to the outfield fence

#1 is useless due to some carriers of covid-19 being pre-symptmatic or asymptomatic.
Any lawyers around to chime in about #1's legal effectiveness?

The restroom thing is definitely a big issue. The tournament port-o-johns are nasty on a pre-Covid good day, and I'm a guy that for the most part can get in and out without touching anything.

10.) Any other virtue signaling lists we can add, please feel free to do so. We all know this is purely for the "feelz", so be sure to "one up" everyone else!

Hey, since I and my DD are introverts, this gives us a perfect excuse not to talk to anyone else!
