How protective should a catcher be of her mitt?

So coaches if you need to warm up the pitcher between innings use your own damn glove. Better yet, send out the sitting catcher.

That. Very few teams do that. Keep the game going, get a sitting player involved, and let her get a few reps in.

My son always kept an older mitt in his bag. Was a good idea for backup purposes, but is also the mitt he offered if someone needed to use one.

I know nothing about being a catcher, and the use of their equipment. DD said her school HC picked up and used her mitt a few times during practice......

I wish she could be up to doing just that. He yells enough to intimidate the girls.
