As I was looking at some of Haley’s swings I noticed some inconsistencies getting to the loaded launch position. Here’s a video with another student getting a lesson from Richard
Getting the athlete to load earlier is something of an issue at all levels. I think using the coil gives the hitters an advantage over shift and fall.

Putting it in to action. Her hitting and mechanics have improved due to not being rushed to swing.
Here she was still unsure how early she could be and still be on time.
I always ask how early is to early. I’m not sure there is a accurate answer as long as you coil with rhythm.
With the weight over the rear hip socket, the pullback and coil, you can load earlier with adjustability. All this changes when you use the swing to put the front foot down.
So the answer is load early and adjust from there? Compared to being late with the load, and trying to be early. Just load (coil) really early and adjust from there.
That puts Jim Dixon’s observation that it takes a great hitter longer to prepare the swing into perspective.
