I found an used 32.5" GXS101 mitt at our local used Sports Equipment shop. It appears to be in good condition. It is priced at $31.99. Is that a good value? Would it be good for a rec 8U team maybe 14u with a small hand catcher? When I played the league always provided a catchers mitt but I understand times have changed. Trying to help out were I can. I should have taken a picture but I was on my lunch break.

IMO...The GXS101 is usable for 8U and low-level 10U, but not much more than that. Little kids like it because it's easy to close right off the shelf. The big problem is that the finger-side structure of the GXS101 breaks down very quickly, and it soon becomes too floppy to be effective. If there is nothing else available, it's probably better than trying to use a fielder's glove. From what I have seen recently, the low end mitts from Easton and Worth are miles ahead of the GXS101 for overall quality and long-term durability.
