As the runner jobs back to the dug out, my DD looks at the runner and says, "B****, where did you think your were going?"

The coach comes out and chews on DD for a while and DD does the "smile and nod".

I'm not sure this is a sign of seriousness. Looks more like plain old fashioned poor sportsmanship and lack of respect for another player and herself.

When my oldest was 8 or 9 on her first 10u rec team (that I did everything I could do to weasel out of coaching), her coach lined up all the girls and said, "whoever can pitch step forward", and everyone took a step back except my kid, who being blond, was staring at a squirrel in a tree. In that moment all my hopes and dreams of grooming her as a catcher to catch my lessons were crushed.
