But 12U pitch from 40 feet with 12-inch ball. Pitchers usually do not play up?
Although she's 10U eligible, she just started training at 40 feet with the 12" ball and is throwing in the low 40s and hitting spots the majority of the time. Given that, we think she's ready to play up for next summer rather than spend another year at 10U, especially given the time she can spend training between now and May when the tournament season starts here. Who knows... she may get rocked all season, but she likes a challenge. And we're in MA... not southern CA or other parts of the US where it's ultra-competitive! :)

Update: our Class C Travel Ball director reached out to our local USA Softball rep who confirmed it's no problem for her to play in the fall only, as long as we use the player pick-up form and don't have the A team register her on their roster for 2022. Thanks to everyone for responding. All of this is new territory for me!
