DP/FLEX Question

Lets say I have 11 players in the lineup. 9 on defence. I would like my power hitter to hit but not play defence. And my fast runner just run for my power hitter and not play defence. Would my power hitter be the DP and fast runner be my FLEX. Are should I just use the runner as a sub.

What you are proposing would not be legal, the flex player is a defensive position and must play defense. While the flex player may bat and/or run for the DP position, if they do the DP has left the game and is considered a substitution for the DP. They may reenter, but if you were to do it again that particular player you are using in the DP position would be out of the game.

playing with dp/flex uses 10 players. Fast runner would have to be #11(sub)
