Some more food for thought...

Sometimes a bat going "dead" can also be mistaken for someone outgrowing a bat. So if the hitter is using a bat that is too light/small, it will seem
like its not performing like it was when it fit the hitter better.

I do get texts with that situation

Only seen a couple of dead bats, those had thousands of gravels hit off them when I was a kid. Think now it's a great excuse to get a new bat.

That picture is conclusive proof that she's generating enough bat speed so that it's past time to be using a -11 drop bat! Move up to -10 or -9. If she insists on metal, get her an Anderson Rocketech - preferably 2014 or earlier.

My DD did well with a FS200 29/19 Aluminum bat today at her hitting lesson. With that in mind, it is is time to get her off the aluminum bat. Now I just got to decide between the 29/18 CF9 and the LXT. The 29' bats don't come in a -10 and these high end bats are a heavy anyway. This is a tough decision to make. In the limited time she has got with these bats she said she liked the feel of the LXT better. Today she said she liked the color of the CF9 better. Core is out of the CF9s in her size so that might be the deciding factor.

I always hear people says buy them a bat that is their favorite color in 8U, but I don't think those people play the same brand of 8U softball that we do. Plus, they probably don't have an 80# 7 year DD that has put dents in 3 aluminum bats in one season. Sometimes I wonder if I push her too hard but the girl loves playing softball.

My daughter has both the 2016 LXT and the CF9 in 29/18. She's 9yr old 78lbs. In my opinion, they hit fairly equal. I've checked exit velocity with pocket radar with both bats. The one thing I've heard is the LXT is slightly more end loaded than the CF9. I couldn't feel it myself, but the day I brought the LXT home and she picked it up she immediately said it felt heavier to her.

I think the 2016 LXT is pretty close to the CF9. In 2017 the LXT appears to have gained some weight but I hear the 2017 LXT Hyper is crazy hot.

CF9 29/18...............................AW 18.6 oz
LXT 29/18 (2016).....................AW 18.7 - 18.8 oz
LXT 29/18 (2017).....................AW 19.5 - 19.7 oz

we have a 2017 LXT hyper and yes the pop is awesome, my little 11 year old gets close to the fence on a lot of hits with minimal effort. and it doesn't feel heavy at all. We have a 30/20 and most people comment on how light it feels
