So I have been looking to buy my DD a new glove for sometime. She’s 11 and has used Bradley’s since she began playing. They are great gloves and have served her well.

We have been eyeing the Rawlings for sometime and I’ve probably thought about and researched this way too long lol.

With the help of Johnny (Annasdad) he helped me narrow down a few options and we finally settled on the Don Morton 12” Pro1000 in black horween.

I was worried this thing would be to stiff or to big, neither of which proved to be an issue after a little work.

This black horween is super nice, and softer than I expected. A little mallet work, re-lace of the wrist and we were playing catch! I also removed the mlb patch….can’t have that on a “softball glove” 😉

It’ll be a little bit before we are game ready, but I wouldn’t shy away from this thing for a young lady at all. Can’t think Johnny enough for his help, many texts and phone calls! He knows his gloves.

Here’s a few pics:

A new glove. One of the few things that can make an 8 year old and an 80 year old equally as happy!

@ANNASDAD and @nickaux - I’m looking at the same glove for my DD. She is 11 and about average sized for her age. Any concerns with the hand stall size of this glove?

I remember @ANNASDAD saying (Edit: see https://www.discussfastpitch.com/threads/2019-don-morton-pro1000-hc.36175/ ) this was almost the same exact glove as the Pro-206, except this was full Horween leather. DD has been using the Pro-206 for two years now (eg since she was 10) with no issues regarding hand stall size. That said, it took us a while to break in the Pro-206 so she could use it, and this will probably be more difficult. Granted we didn't do anything but play catch with it to break it in.

Thanks. Your daughter is much taller/longer than mine. It’s been frustrating finding a glove for her that matches her size and level of play. She has recently used a Bradley baseball glove and after break in, the softball just seems to rattle around in the glove and not really stick, even when I use it. Like the pocket just isn’t deep enough. I will check out the pro 206.

Bit of tangent note:

I ordered my DS 10 yr old a new glove. He's gotten nearly 3 yrs out of his bradley which is still going strong btw, but i noticed Rawlings had a new glove for baseball players called Contour Fit under the Rawlings Heart of the Hide R2G line. I went R2G so it's more game ready and won't be such a process to break in. The Contour Fit was brilliant for Rawlings bc its catering to youth hand stall etc.
