Hello all would like some advice.
My daughter is moving from 10U to 12U. She is a pitcher and a utility player. She puts the ball in play but doesn't hit the ball the hardest. We are doing private pitching and hitting lessons as well as general conditioning. In the last month she has improved her home to first time from 4.6 to 3.8. Her birthday is in December so she is always one of the youngest. We have a choice of teams

Team 1 would be the A team of the current organization. She played A at 10 U. She would be in the 10-12 range of players to now but has room for improvement. She would be the third pitcher on this team and would be behind the coaches daughter but maybe able to pass her before summer. The coaches are great and she would learn a lot. They have a history of playing all the girls.

Team 2 would be the B team in the same organization. She would be the primary pitcher and one of the 2 or 3 best players. They are planning on keeping 14 kids on this team and it is not announced who would coach. If she plays on this team so will almost certainly be on the A team as a 12.

Team 3 is with a different organization who wants her as a primary pitcher. Her hitting coach and pitching coach are affiliated with this organization. We do not know any of the girls or how good the team will be. Currently there are 7 kids on this team but they have fielded a 12 U team for last 10+ years so most likely they will get enough girls. They have a very successful 16 and 18 U team.

Thank you for your help.

At this age it's all about the circle time. To be a primary pitcher is a gift. Since she is so young, in my opinion, it doesn't matter if it is A or B ball. Since both her pitching and hitting coaches are affiliated with this organization I would play there. 14u is when it starts to become important to play A ball. Two years of primary pitching will give her a great shot as an A ball pitcher.

How much do you value the team experience? Last year her team won state and went to nationals where they did well. The expectations would be the same for team 1 this year. Last year DD finally started caring about winning and practicing outside of her lessons and practice. That had a lot to do with the team expectations. She was able to pitch around 60 innings this past summer and we think if she makes team 1 it would be at least that. If she is on team 2 or 3 it would be around 150 innings. Also she has been invited to participate in team 3's winter program whether she plays with them or not. Lastly DD does not know anyone on team 3 and as a young 11 is hesitant about changing organizations.

Thank you again for all you help
