If you walk in to a college dugout you will find a slew of 34/-10 and a few outliers used by slappers and beasts. Not sure why so many TB players insist on a 33" bat that is often the same weight as a 34, just with an inch less of bat.
RB I tried to convert my oldest dd from 33/24 to a 34/24 for that very reason. She thought she wasn't as quick with the 34, I should have brought home the 34 and sold the 33's so there was no going back, lol!
Is a bat like this dangerous to use (thinking maybe it'll crack in half and part of the barrel will go flying; I've seen that with aluminum bats)? Can it be a BP bat? Good for tee work?
Isn't the answer staring you in the eyes...the girl craves a new bat! She's only going to be able to "cleat beat" that thing for so long before you have no choice.
For hardcore players, every year should be a consideration. The old bat becomes her backup. For serious players, two years. For less serious players, it's obviously a judgement call.
If any of these scenarios exist with your daughter, buy her a new bat with a pledge to better care for it both inside and ouside of the dugout. The one in the picture becomes, or should I say, continues to be the one she hits rocks into the parking lot with.
