8U - Pitcher getting possession

Hello -

8U ASA tournament play. Rule states: Play stops when ball hit to outfield gets in the control of the pitcher.

Does the pitcher have to have the control of the ball in the pitcher's circle for play to stop or does it mean the pitcher may gain possession of the ball outside the circle and play must stop?

That would not be an asa rule but something the local league has added. You would have to verify with your league rules official.
