2018 bat regulation changes?

I was in a local sporting goods store today and noticed they had some really great bats marked down incredibly low. The owner said in 2018 they would no longer be allowed for play in any type of league. I noticed a couple of really popular bats like the cf5 and (I think) mako.. the orange one.

I haven't really heard much about this. Anyone know where I can find more information on it?

I see notices regarding a Baseball change in rules effective 1/1/2018 (link), but nothing re: softball.

Maybe it's a buying opportunity.

My nephew plays travel baseball and my brother has mentioned something about some bats not being used for league play but can't remember any specific. Haven't heard anything related to softball bats.

This is for Baseball, they are going to a wood bat like performance. I have not seen or heard anything related to softball.
