This is from college baseball, but I think it's great info about getting ahead or falling behind in the count as a pitcher or hitter.
Found a chart for softball. It is actually much more advantageous to be ahead than implied by the chart since it uses average for ended at bats. Need to know the %, it could be only 10% of 0-0 counts end with a hit or an out, the rest resulting 1-0 or 0-1 count.

Hard to find data but I think a saw one and a first pitch strike loward on base by .120 even though ba on balls in play is not all that different.
