It wouldn't surprise me if they end up (eventually) making the replant legal. Now that would sure add to the list of "acceptable"/"correct" mechanics.

All of these are replanters.... I guess it ok if they're getting away with it..... Until they arent

I agree and didn't want to point it out early in the thread but after the unorthodox start, her mechanics are in-line and very similar to most replanters like those pictured above. I don't think her unorthodox start does anything whatsover from an "adder" standpoint and would like to see her drop that from her pitch. It will only cause issues (possibly physically) for her and lends zero benefit.

Yes, I would like to see the replant go away as well but more concerned about her health as she obviously has tremendous talent that has got her signed. As Riseball said, hopefully her D1 coaches will help her out and her career will continue to be extremely successful. I wish her the best.

If they do, I imagine folks will try to maximize the leap part of the pitch.

I don't know if there's an official world record for the standing broad jump but guys have gone over 12 feet at the NFL combine.

If sufficiently talented pitcher focused on maximizing the leap, I could see a man replanting 8 feet from the rubber and a woman replanting at 5 or 6 feet. Even if that doesn't maximize pitch speed, the shortened distance from release point to plate could make hitting a whole lot harder.
