I have watched that clip about 50 times, and I don't think I have ever seen anyone her age or size with that good of mechanics with power/resistance through release. Great job.

Really don't want to offend anyone, but all kids that use a backswing should have the forward momentum of their body terminate the "back" in backswing.

Your kid is very coordinated. She play a lot of sports? Appears so.

I would recommend learning to drive rather than just stride. She would benefit from lower body drills like pushbacks, jump backs, etc. She's an attacker... seems foolish to not maximize that incredible coordination... she is obviously in very good hands. Keep it up.

I prefer the opposite. Arm goes back; body moves forward.

Never to be stuck in a thought and relying on Hansen I will stand corrected; somewhat

1. I definitely standby DO NOT watch Amanda for anything related to back swing lol

2. While body moving forward is what most what most elite pitchers do (always open to being wrong) I think it is the weight distribution does look different than OPs DD. Looks like she is moving her back foot forward at the point where her back swing is highest which seems like maybe she is still too far forward too soon

3. Can't quite see from the angle but I think we have discussed before about having two "h" type stances which is does not look like what the OPs DD does there is no first "h"

4. What would be a post from me without stills...looking at these taken from highest point of the back swing they have all started their upper bodies forward but still seems weight is back all back feet are planted with heel down...more in next post due to size limit

more stills to show forward lean and weight still seems a little back...I would actually be interested in thoughts on this never really paid much attention to back swing and always wrote it of as a style thing and as you can see these all vary but it does seem to be the point where weight from the bottom half anyway start to transfer from behind the plate to forward as the ball comes forward; maybe it's that OPs DD does not seem to flex drive knee while keeping back leg back that look different

Thanks just started watching the 2 step drills and realizes knee up is more important than toes. Just a bucket dad with eager kids and have had some help along the way with a local pitching coach that has been very helpful. Really appreciate all the compliments.

In order to be "good", a kid has to love to pitch *IN GAMES*.

The focus should be on giving her the tools to excel during games. At her age and skill level, tweaking her form is overkill.

Her practice time should focus on location and the changeup.
