In all honesty I could. Or you could look at any HOF hitter. There hips LEAD. They don’t fire first: The front hip opens, the explosion you see is the backside coming through with the hands. Think of the body as 2 halves sagittally. The young lady posted works her load in the transverse plane.

Not words I use in this context and because of that it confuses me. Maybe dumb it down for me and I will understand a little better.

Regardless.. take the toe tap out of this swing and the lower body mechanics are very similar to this hitter

he's not too shabby, :)

Edit:, I think I understand, maybe. But I am not seeing it. I see very similar movements to MLBer's at heel plant

On a lesser scale I see Miggy's lower body moving very similar as well on this no-stride swing

The sagittal plane is your body cut in half. Left/right side. Transverse would be bottom and top. Miggy gathers back in the sagittal plane. As does Wright. As does the young lady. The young lady fired her front hip to initiate her swing while her hands drag the bat behind her. She’s all back. She’s spinning.Shes unbalanced. The mlbers get forward loading the front side(right) with their backside already loaded. They unload the backside to finish the swing. There is a lot more to it. But that’s the big difference between the 3 examples. Hope this helps.

If you don’t understand a term. Google is very helpful.

I have seen some of Sullivan’s videos. He’s pretty good imo.

Not at all. I am saying the body gets loaded front and back(sagittally). The hands fire with the backside release of the swing. The front hip and core opens to create leverage and store power. The backside finishes or fires whichever you like. If your saying the swing is fired with the core. I would disagree.

Not sure of your point. I see the core creating leverage , giving a platform to unload into... the swing gets ‘exciting’ when the hands and backside is released. imo of course.

The core to me is a rubber band if you will.

Regarding the core creating leverage ... exactly what is the 'lever' ... and at what point in the swing is it a 'lever'.

Regarding the swing gets 'exciting' when the hands and backside is released ... what do you mean by the swing getting exciting? ... at what point in the swing do you see the hands being released? ... at what point in the swing do you see the backside being released?

A lot in here. The leverage is the stretch.Best leverage is right before release of the backside.

The swing getting ‘exciting’ is the pulling of the trigger so to speak after foot down. The hands going forward is released. The back knee being released is backside release.

Help me understand your references to the planes. I can't help but think of gathering as a frontal plane movement and rotation as a transverse plane movement. I admit I'm just becoming familiar with the terminology.

Sagittal - left and right sides of body. Frontal- front and back. Transverse- top and bottom. Hope this helps.
