If Stanton's swing and inability to adjust is the result of a high strike out ratio... then what's Judge's excuse for striking out so much since he is the poster boy for the HL swing?

Who said Judge was the 'poster boy' for a HL swing. I would pick Cabrera or Bonds as a 'poster boy' for a HL swing if I had a say.

Chehalis, Wa
Griffey and Bonds are a good debate as well. One walked away from the hands any really stretched, the other talked about not letting the hands/barrel get away/behind him to much. One got quicker with age, the other was a HR or strike out hitter. One juiced the other didn't.

Are you saying you never referenced Judge as having a HL swing? If not, then this question wasn't personally directed at you. However I have seen many people on here reference Judge as having a HL swing, so my question still stands

Your question wasn't whether Judge had a HL swing. You asked ''who said Judge was the 'poster boy' for a HL swing''. I answered that I would use Bonds or Cabrera as my 'poster boy' for a HL swing and have used them.

For RDBASS's benefit..

If Stanton's swing and inability to adjust is the result of a high strike out ratio... then what's Judge's excuse for striking out so much since he has a HL MLB swing and turns the barrel?

For JULRAY benefit:
You do realize that strike outs are way this year and have been going up.

Strikeout totals in major league baseball are up eight percent again before the weekend, rising to what would be a record 8.87 strikeouts per team per game. This portends to be the 14th consecutive season that strikeouts will rise. Compared to 2005, there were nearly 10,000 more strikeouts last season, cresting at 40,140, as opposed to 30,644 in 2005.

But the jump in home runs, which has been seen as going hand to hand with strikeouts, has taken place only in the last four seasons, although starkly so, skyrocketing from 4,186 in 2014 to a record 6,015 last year.

Judge has always struck out a lot, before he got with TM and after. What did go up after he got with TM was his HR. I am not going to say one way or the other whether TM's teaching made the strikeouts worse but there are things that go into striking out besides swing mechanics.I will say that if you look at his MiLB numbers and then factor in better MLB pitching one could make the case that his MLB K numbers are similar to what he did in MiLB.

Thank you, that's the point I am making. You can't just isolate swing mechanics, there are other factors. So saying Stanton strikes out a lot because he doesn't have a prototypical HL swing is not exactly accurate

So ... it's all relative, I'm not comparing only Judge year to year. Judge is in the top 10 in strikeouts this year, and he was number 1 in the league last year
