Looking at Pujols front side hip, do you think his front leg gets in the way and then out of the way like Mr. Presley does?

Do you think Pujols or Elvis was thinking about turning his foot & knee down and in first from the ground up?

And you keep 'focusing' on the front side and doing the 'Elvis' because you're missing out on the important stuff.

Wow. You guys are good and very technical. Probably too advance for me and my daughter.
If there are simplier explanations for my daughter let me know.

Thanks

I apologize if we've hijacked this thread and made it less useful for you. You have a lot of ideas here with people who buy into different philosophies. The thing is, when one is saying that such and such is a waste of time, another has used the stuff they support and produced some pretty good players. I have seen some of the players. In this thread, just about everything that I used has been deemed useless. Still, my hitters hit. If I don't mess up, I'll send you a link to some of the stuff my dd did.

Need help on my daughters swing
She's played A ball but took a year off due to various injuries.
She playing again but having problems against top pichers cause she has a "hitch" in her swing. She loads up on the swing and is moving her hands back and rotating her upper body forward.
She's small but hits with power by loading up which I dont it is part of her game. The coaches (high school and travel team) love it but i dont. They both have different coaching on swing techniques.

What do you the experts think?

I know it a bad quality video but my daughter's friend took it and ny daughter hates being on video.

Thanks for any feedback and tips.

Don't get to caught up in all the jargon.

She is wrapping the bat to much. I'll post a video for something you might try.

I'm trying to find the right clip that shows the barrel pointing more towards the dugout and then cocking the barrel. So your uncocked to start and then cock the barrel. Instead of cocked and then cocked some more as in your DD case.

As an example of the rear leg turning the lower half open as everything above resists. This is separation. This how to "get open." This is how the elite hitters do it. They do not open the front side with the front side.

Stare at the rear knee and belt buckle

The OP's DD is landing on the front leg (a little reverse stride in this clip) opening the front leg and then swinging. Her rear leg is not doing the work it should be doing to get open. Go back and watch her swing. Her barrel movement is tied to her front leg movement.

Watch Judge again. Barrel is tied to rear leg.

Looking Thome, Pujols, Goldschmidt, Judge and others I think their are more Absolutes with the front side than the rear. Do you agree?

I disagree. Reason why is I believe the rear side is 'in charge' of the front side. That is JMHO.

Per request I like to stick to 'not hijacking thread'.

I believe the front/back side is a sort of symbiotic relationship. I see players rear side has different style, from Pujols foot moving far forward to Thome staying a little more planted. The absolute seems to be the front side bracing. Learning absolutes can simplify things more than focusing on style and what not to do. IMO

Didnt mean to highjack anything I thought the player might benefit from some front side back side discussion.
