Exactly. And the complaining about vilified men is because when your position of privilege starts to shift to a more equal distribution, no matter how unequal that still is, it can feel like you're being vilified or discriminated against. Women have been at a huge disadvantage when it comes to reporting sexual assault or misconduct for longer than I have been alive. Victims are so ripped apart during the process, that a false accusation is rare. I have no idea if this coach did something wrong or didn't, but if they gave him his own microwave and he still kept coming into the players' locker room, that says a lot to me. They even told him to send a female staff member if there was something he really needed in there, and he still kept going in. Maybe that didn't bother all the players, but it obviously bothered some of them. It would bother me, either as a player or the parent of one. They tried to address it internally. It did not work. What else should they do?

Also, maybe they're lying. It does happen. And in the cases when someone is lying (Duke lacrosse is always brought up), the lies unravel pretty quickly.

I think it's fair and prudent to wait until the story plays out. There's a pretty wide gulf between "He did this all the time even after we asked him to stop" and "No, none of this ever happened." I don't think it'll be too difficult to get to the truth. This is not a case of a single questionable incident where it's he said/she said.

common sense

I am a firm believer in equal rights. When I am looking to hire or promote someone, my focus is on the best "person" for the job regardless of sex, race, or any other factor. I look strictly at education, experience, and other factors that are pertinent to the specific job.

That said, bad behavior is not limited to one sex, race, religion, or other specific groups. People that do stupid, repulsive, or even criminal things come in all shapes, colors, and sizes. If the accusations about this coach are proven to be true, hopefully more will be done than simply buying a new microwave. Likewise, if it can be proven that the accusations are false, hopefully others will be held accountable.

Story -- Several years ago there was a young woman working in a clerical role in our organization (not my department). She filed a sexual harassment claim against a person that worked with her. The "event" in question occurred when the two of them were alone in the office. When he was questioned about the incident, he claimed that she had been flirting with him for some time. On the day in question, she approached him and asked if he wanted to meet after their shift was over. He responded by saying he was happily married and not interested. She filed the claim the next day. At the time, no one knew which side to believe. In order to continue the investigation, HR decided to transfer her to a different department (my department...). She had less seniority than the accused, so that is how they determined whom to transfer. As the department head, I was informed of the situation and asked to not allow any male associate to be alone with her at any time. Within a couple of weeks, she quit and accepted a job at a local truck stop as a waitress. She was fired from that job within the next month as she was caught flirting with the patrons and had been warned several times.

My point is this. It is quite possible that the coach named in this thread was in the wrong. If that is the case, something should be done. But it is not unrealistic to think that someone would misreport or misrepresent something. All one needs to do is look at the current structure of politics in this country to see how that works...

As a male coach, I was never alone with a female player. I made sure my office was visible to outsiders. If a player wanted to meet with me, I would always request a staff member to be present either in the room or outside in view. Be smart, & protect yourself. Even same sex coaches could have problems.

The world has gone mad. You never know when you will be accused of something regardless of whether or not it's true. If you have similar allegations against you as this coach does you will forever be tarnished even if the outcome is in your favor. It's so bad now that if you are a male you better record every interaction with a female for the rest of your life. There are free apps it will take care of this, save your career, and potentially keep you out of jail. Unfortunately males are under Fire

As a coach for women's team, few simple and commonsense steps will prevent you from being falsely accused.

1. No body contact other than hand shake
2. Don't be alone with any of your players, always have a female present when you meet a player in your office.
3. Don't go in their dressing room, a male coach has no reason to be in a women's dressing room or shower.
4. How much ever you want it to be, the players are not your family and they are just your players and treat them as such.
5. Never PM a player, always include an assistant coach in the message.
6. I have seen girls flirt with the coaches to get what they want, so don't let it get to your head when you get vain compliments from your players.

There are lot more simple steps you can follow to keep yourself out of trouble.

Do you have any evidence of this being true? Nothing else in your post was accurate, but this is one that should be verifiable.

Whose coaching careers have been ruined despite being proven innocent?

... Unfortunately males are under Fire

No, sexual assault is under fire, and it's certainly not unfortunate. I've personally found that the best way to keep myself from being accused of it is to just not do it. It's worked out well for me, so far.

A good friend of mine is the varsity girls basketball coach at the local high school. Before each game and during half time, the entire team, including the coaching staff meets in the locker room. That is where they have their discussion area including the white board for drawing up offensive and defensive schemes. Before he accepted the position, he asked to have a tour of all the facilities. When he saw the locker room, he requested to have a wall put up to separate this into two rooms, and explained his reasoning. When you leave the basketball court, you now enter their meeting area that includes a rectangular table, chairs, and the white board. Then there is another door that leads to the players dressing room. I think this was a good decision on my friend's part, and I am glad the school was willing to make the necessary changes.

Google the guys name is this enough proof? https://www.google.com/search?q=Gre...e..69i57.1764959j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

It's so easy to jump to conclusions. Look at this thread. Every chatroom on the internet will be passing judgement without a single strand of first hand evidence. MAYBE he's guilty maybe he's not. I wasn't there and as far as I know no one else here was. It's very easy to burn someone. Just look at the Chicago MAGA hat beating. 100% fake.

That's just a ridiculous statement. SO coaches are known for slapping female players on the butt or sticking their tongues down a players unwilling throat? Just dumb
