One of the neatest gifts I received coaching was a montage of all of the players with me, the coach, dead center of the montage. Players were shown either fielding or hitting and it is pretty neat looking at it to this day. On the bottom is an area with all of the player's and coach's names.
I may be getting sentimental in my old age, but the only gifts I have hung on to through the years are ones with pictures of the team. One of my favorites was framed and it had a border where all of the players signed their names and wrote a note or something funny.
My husband got a personalized Fungo a couple of years ago that he loves. He has also received pictures with signed mats, or pictures on a plaque. I like the plaque with the photo, but think a Shutterfly photo book with all the players and coaches taken throughout the year would be great. The pictures are definitely what make the gifts awesome, and a photo book would be great for that. If the girls are a little older, having each of them write coach a letter thanking him and telling him what they enjoyed most would be a major home run (pun intended). Pretty sure my husband would sob like a baby if he got that.
