Hi all,

Sorry to intrude since this is more of a technical computer issue than a softball discussion, but I know several of you have had an issue where you have to login each time even if you click the "Remember Me" box. And often get a redirect when you do manage to login successfully. I have a solution, which I posted in the Technical Help forum or whatever it's called. But since this one is viewed a lot more, I thought I'd post it here. Hopefully it saves some of you whatever sanity you have left. I've tested it on two computers and it worked on both.

The problem seems to be with the URL. If you are using https://www.discussfastpitch.com your browser is probably viewing it as a non-secure site and won't let you stay logged in. You have to use https://www.discussfastpitch.com. Note the extra "s" added at the end of http. So if you are coming in through a bookmark, delete the old bookmark, login with the https version, and then save that. I think that will solve the problem. I am using Chrome, but I'll bet it works for others as well.

If it still doesn't work you may need to do one more thing. (I've already done this so can't check if it's needed or not.) In Chrome, look at the address bar at the top, all the way to the left, for the little i in a circle. Click on that, and then go to the bottom and click on the "site settings" link which will open a new tab.

On the new tab, go down to Cookies and click on it. Go down to Allow and click on ADD out to the right. Then insert the new URL. Again, it's https://www.discussfastpitch.com The click the blue ADD button. You will have now allowed cookies from DFP in secure mode to be saved, which should keep you logged in.

Please give it a try and let me know if it works for you. If you are on IE, Safari, or another browser there is probably some similar way to whitelist the cookies for the secure site. If you find it's needed, and you discover how, please share with everyone else. Thanks!

ETA: I was informed earlier today that the site settings have been changed so it will accept the old http URL as well. So that should end any issues you've been having.

If you are concerned about security (the "S" in https is related to security) then you may want to make the above changes anyway.

Hi Ken,

For those using Firefox, here are a couple links to browser add-ons that auto-force the "https" (secure) version of a website if one exists...

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/https-by-default/?src=search
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/smart-https-revived/?src=search

Those using Chrome or Opera can also alternatively use...

https://www.eff.org/https-everywhere

Cookies control can be set in any browser's settings area, or Firefox users can alternatively choose to install an add-on such as the following...

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/cookies-manager-plus/?src=search
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/cookie-cleaner-cookie-eraser/?src=search
