Sure... though not my DD, but the pitcher who has the lesson before her. Blew her knee out junior season stepping on first base. 6 month rehab + another 12 weeks and she was back to full strength and beyond.
She is now a freshman at a mid-high level D1 school. Will likely be their second pitcher as a freshman behind a senior and their #1 by her sophomore year. Great kid. Worked her butt off getting back from the injury, but she is ALL the way back now.
Danielle Baumgartner (Mizzou) tore her ACL her senior year of high school. I'm not sure of the extent of damage, but she returned to play just 6 weeks after surgery.
Yes. We have one at our high school. Committed to a big d1. Acl surgery last summer and led our high school to the state semis this year. Full travel schedule this summer - including Colorado and California. Didn't seem to skip a beat as far as anyone can tell.
It is not nearly as big a deal as it used to be. Getting really strong post op is the key. DD had both her feet broken and screws inserted her Junior year. The day prior to her surgery she tore her MCL. Got it all fixed at same time. Came back with a vengeance and it worked out fine. .
